Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to the final edition of Parent Talk for 2023. We hope you experience the peace and joy of the Advent season as we draw closer to the end of the year. You'll find a wonderful Family Advent Guide and prayer, courtesy of our Diocese of Lismore parent representative in this article.

We are very proud to announce the recipients of our 2023 Roger O'Sullivan Awards in this edition. We received 15 wonderful entries; it is heartening to see so many schools engaging parents in their children's learning and we extend our congratulations to all school communities for creating such positive experiences for parents, carers and students.

At our Term 4 meetings last week, held at the Novotel Sydney International Airport Hotel, we ended the year with our AGM, confirming the appointments of our 2024 Council and Committee Members. Find out who your parent reps are here. 

We will be powering into 2024 with our new strategic plan (read the article here), committed to serving you and being a strong voice for all our parents and families of students in NSW and ACT schools. The 2024-2026 Strategic Plan has three goals in our pillars of Leadership, Advocacy and Support, and the focus for the next three years is on ensuring we have open channels of communication with our stakeholders, provide opportunities for schools and parents to learn more about parent engagement in their children's learning, and ensuring our services and resources are inclusive and suitable for the changing parent demographic in our schools.

All of us at CCSP wish you a happy, relaxing and meaningful Christmas season. It is our hope that as we celebrate the birth of the infant Jesus, you are renewed and enjoy time with those you love.
