Dear Parents and Carers

We hope you had a beautiful Christmas and holy season and a wonderful summer holiday with your family and are feeling refreshed and ready to face the new year.

Can you believe it's 2024? We're off to a great start to the new school year, with lots of events planned for our families, a new strategic plan, and a wonderful group of volunteer parents who are on our Council and Committee.

In this issue, we look back at some events that happened at the end of last year and we give you the heads-up about what we're doing this year for our parents and families. Some dates are still to be firmed up and stay tuned for additional events. An easy way to keep updated is to follow us on Facebook! You can download the 2024 CCSP Calendar of Events and Meetings here.

This term our first eSafety Commissioner online webinar for parents and carers is for primary school parents and is all about understanding parental controls to safeguard your child. These informative sessions are invaluable when it comes to cybersafety for our children. We've listened to you and this year we're offering two 'lunch and learn' options as well as evening events. Here are the four webinars we've booked in for parents and carers this year so you can save the date:

Have a look at our wonderful Food for Families video on quick and easy nutritious school lunchboxes with food presenter Jane de Graaff, and enter the draw for 20 beautiful kitchen linen set giveaway packs.

On a more serious note, we have included our governance flyer about parent groups and section 83c of the Education Act, which gives some guidelines on fundraising and donations. It has some great information about compliance and requirements for parent groups; for example, did you know that funds raised by parent groups cannot be used for any other purpose than to further the education of students?

We also include some advice about posting photos of children on social media and allergy management at school.

We wish all our new families a warm welcome and hope that everyone has a wonderful year of being authentically engaged in your children's learning at school.

God bless

Cath
